SUMMARY
Bjork Unravelled is the podcast that every Bjork fan can share with their skeptic friends and say, “See? She's not that weird.”
Season 1 served as a primer for Bjork beginners. Each episode picked apart a different facet of her music — from her signature vocals to her genre bending instrumentation — to show that her music isn’t “unlistenable” or “esoteric.” It’s for everyone.
Season 2 follows a slightly different format. Each episode analyzes the intersection of Bjork and a social movement, community, person, or idea. The first episode examines how Bjork's roots in the Icelandic punk scene influenced her music and ethics, while a later one explores Bjork's influence on the LGBTQ+ community. Savannah tells these stories through fan interviews and original analysis.
New episodes every other Thursday.
PRODUCER & HOST
In addition to writing and producing Bjork Unravelled, Savannah Wright produces chart-topping podcasts at Western Sound. Previously, she created audio courses with Mark Bittman and Celeste Headlee at Knowable. At Alternate Thursdays, she interviewed musical experts like NPR's Christopher O'Riley and Pitchfork's Ryan Dombal for Fake Plastic Podcast (a Radiohead podcast). She believes music is a lamentably untapped category in podcasting and aims to fix that through on-the-ground reporting and approachable musical analysis.
